Discussing the availability, brief explanation on the series, who may or may not like it, it's a good way to learn about various anime that you could get but were unsure about. The Anime Of Minami I
Panel/TalkBack in 1994 Minami debuted - now in its 20th year, what would have been on the old VHS and Betamax and Laser Discs that might have been used for video rooms back then? Were cel drawings used for subtitles written in blood whilst Satan himself cackled in enjoyment? A panel wondering what the fandom of Minami I may have been watching, and does it still hold up 20 years later in terms of animation, story, and characters? Has it become too dated? Or is it way more enjoyable than anything of today's generation could ever have. Spirit Of The Stage, 12 year con veteran sees what the fans of the first Minami may have been watching and takes you on a nostalgic trip to see if the series are as good as he remembers or if they have aged way too badly...

Cosplay with Gijinka
Cosplay/Panel/Talk"Gijinka" is most often a fan made re-design of an animal-like character in a human form. Gijinka designs are mostly associated with Pokemon, however Gijinka can apply to many sources, and not surprisingly it has influenced a large amount of cosplay, whether it's Pokemon, or Ponies, Transformers or Trains. I shall share my wise knowledge of Gijinkas, show my favourite examples, and discuss how to create a design of your own.
Competitions/GamesA retread of last year's debut panel and the return of shooting people with nerf guns? Well, maybe not but considering who hosts these things you can't blame the audience for getting confused...in reality, a giant dartboard, categories of questions, half time game shows and a lot of silliness. 1, 2, 3 or 5 point questions depending where you hit, so it's not a straight forward pub quiz. There will be Prizes as well as a lot of fun to be had.

Panel/TalkLast year's Cyberpunk Talk returns with a slightly different twist. This time, it's a light-hearted then-and-now comparison between classic cyberpunk movies of the past, and their recent and upcoming remakes. We will also look at sorted magazines and merch for people to marvel at, and we'll talk a little about the impact that these shows have had on Japan's tv and theatre scene overall.

Panel/TalkThe panel takes people through the world of idols, what it means to be an idol in Japan and the industry. I talk through popular male and female idol groups such as Arashi, AKB48 and Morning Musume and the more niche acts. I will also look at anime singing idols, such as the rise and fall of Aya Hirano and her destructive fanbase behind Mamamoru Miyano. I will also explain how idol collectives work, the management behind them and the fandoms surrounding idols. I will focus on entertaining the audience, and look to include lots of entertaining clips from variety shows. My aim is to inform those who are new to Japanese idols about how idols are viewed in Japanese society and by their fans, as well as entertaining any existing idol fans who may attend.
